## Overview

When using Square with Bookkeep, it’s important to understand that not all financial activity is accessible through Square’s API. As a result, there are certain transactions that **Bookkeep cannot see or post**.

## Limited Visibility into Square Financial Accounts

While Square has expanded access to some financial data, there are still limitations on what can be retrieved by external providers like Bookkeep.

### Square Checking Accounts

Bookkeep now supports visibility into **Square checking account activity**. To learn more about how this data is handled, please visit:

### Square Savings Accounts

Square does **not** currently provide API access to **Square savings account activity**.

This means:

- Transfers into or out of Square savings accounts
- Any internal savings account activity

👉 These transactions are **not visible to Bookkeep** and will not be automatically recorded.

### Square Debit Card Activity

Square also does **not** provide API access to transactions made using:

- Square debit cards

This means any spending activity tied to a Square debit card is **not visible to Bookkeep** and will not be automatically recorded.

## What This Means for Your Accounting

If funds are:

- Moved into or out of a Square savings account
- Spent using a Square debit card
- Transacted in ways not exposed via Square’s API

👉 These transactions will **not be visible to Bookkeep** and therefore will **not be automatically recorded** in your accounting system.

## What Bookkeep _Does_ Post

Bookkeep focuses on posting **sales, fees, payouts, and other available transactional data** directly from Square.
