Bookkeep enables you to integrate your eBay account to automate
journal entry postings.

## Types of eBay Journal Entries

Bookkeep automates two types of journal entries with eBay:

1. **Sales Summary:** Captures completed orders and associated order
   marketplace fees.
2. **Deposit:** Captures bank transfers and expenses such as shipping
   label purchases.

## Sales Summary Journal Entry

The Sales Summary journal entry posts the prior day's sales to your
accounting platform, capturing gross sales, net sales, discounts,
refunds, and eBay marketplace fees.

For eBay sales: Bookkeep captures Sales Tax Collected and Withheld.
In some regions, tax is withheld and paid by eBay on your behalf, so
we recommend mapping these two lines to the same accounts since they
should net to zero.

## Deposit Journal Entry

The deposit journal entry captures new deposits from eBay to your bank
account, including transfers to cover expenses like shipping labels.

The entry above shows a deposit to an external bank account.

The entry above shows a reduction of the eBay balance to cover a shipping
label purchase.

## Exporting eBay Orders

You can export all orders for a respective time period from the Seller
Hub, which will download a CSV of orders. Note that eBay uses the "date
buyer paid" as the timestamp for when the order was recognized and
created.
